Kickstart: Welcome

The Kickstart scheme is a fantastic opportunity provided by the government to help young people aged 16 – 24 gain valuable experience by funding the relevant national minimum wage for 25 hours a week*. The Scheme is aimed at young people who are currently on Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment.

Physical Development are proud to be supporting the scheme and offering over 30 places to young people. We have roles from Activity Professional to Market researcher available and have put in place the best support through qualifications and mentoring to help provide sustainable development for the future. Sports Coach

As an Activity Professional you will be delivering sport and physical activities predominantly to children and young people, both in school curriculum time following the PE National Curriculum and/or set programs of study and also deliver a range of OSHL (Out Of School Hours Learning programmes), extracurricular activities before school, at lunch times, after school and school holiday periods. ‪In addition to this, staff wellbeing and training sessions are held on a regular basis to promote and encourage a positive workforce.


You will further benefit from the support of a mentor from within the team as well as a tutor through our training provider to support you develop your skills within the job role, as well as your future employability.

Performing Arts Coach

As a Performing Arts Activity Professional, you will be delivering Performing Arts (Dance and Drama) activities predominantly to children and young people, both in school curriculum time following the PE National Curriculum and/or set programs of study and also deliver a range of OSHL (Out of School Hours Learning programmes), extracurricular activities before school, at lunch times, after school and school holiday periods. ‪In addition to this, staff wellbeing and training sessions are held on a regular basis to promote and encourage a positive workforce.

Activity Professional (Life Skills Programme)

As an Activity Professional specialising in the delivery of our life skills programme (Game of Actual Life) , you will be working predominantly with children and young people, both in school curriculum time and also deliver a range of OSHL (Out of School Hours Learning programmes), extracurricular activities before school, at lunch times, after school and school holiday periods. You will deliver the set programme where children theoretically become a 22-year-old who has to make important life choices. The programme teaches them about jobs, money, houses and decision making. ‪In addition to this, staff wellbeing and training sessions are held on a regular basis to promote and encourage a positive workforce.


You will further benefit from the support of a mentor from within the team as well as a tutor through our training provider to support you develop your skills within the job role, as well as your future employability.

Playworker

Assisting with day-to-day activities at our after school clubs. Working with children ages 4-11 ensuring that they are able to play and develop in a safe and fun environment. Main duties include;  

·      Assist with planning, preparing and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment.

·      Providing comprehensive care for the children including collecting them from school and delivering them safely to parents or carers.

·      Setting up the play space including moving furniture and play equipment.

·      Providing refreshments and ensuring that hygiene, health and safety standards are met.

·      Administering first aid when necessary.

·      Consulting with children and involving them in planning activities.

·      Helping with club administration, where necessary.

·      Encouraging parental involvement in the club.

·      Facilitating good communication with all members of the organisation, parents, and schools.

·      Undertaking appropriate and relevant training.

·      Keeping the work environment healthy, safe and secure.

·      Working within the framework of the club’s policies and procedures.
